It's not often we get to be in the presence of genius. And it's even rarer to see how those who possess genius can inspire our youth. That's why you should get yourself along to the King Elementary School Auction this Saturday night. Here's a taste of the show although bear in mind that phone video doesn't do the music justice.
Jazz legend Thara Memory will be on stage, along with Curtis Salgado and a joyous group of young musicians with a repertoire that will melt your heart: "Smack dab in the middle," "Embraceable you,"…. You get the idea.
Have an awesome time and help King School celebrate the "highest year-to-year academic growth of any PreK-8 in the district this year. It is now listed as a top-tier school in the area of academic growth, exceeding both state and district averages in reading and math overall."
Proceeds from last year's auction helped build student progress through funding a new learning garden, educational software, literacy support, the sports and leadership program, video production equipment, and arts in the classroom.
